Uniswap Dominates Decentralized RWA Trading with Record Volumes
Uniswap has become the leading platform for decentralized trading of tokenized assets, also known as real-world assets (RWAs). According to recent data, Uniswap handled over $743M in RWA volumes as of September 4, with daily volumes reaching around $300M. This growth is attributed to the increasing popularity of RWAs on decentralized markets, with both spot trading and perpetual futures shifting to permissionless platforms.
The exchange's influence in RWA trading has led to a significant boost for its native token, UNI, which rallied from $3.24 to $6.28 as of September 16. The rise is also linked to the growing adoption of RWAs and the expanding use of Uniswap on various networks, including Solana, Ethereum, Base, and others.
Uniswap's integration with rStocks by RealityFi has brought over 1,700 new assets to its platform, covering 95% of major US equities. These tokenized stocks are backed by FINRA-registered custodians and launched under the jurisdiction of El Salvador. While the tokens are not directly available for trading by US persons, they can be accessed through the permissionless DEX.
