Uniswap Founder Pushes Back Against V4 Fee Criticism
Uniswap's newly activated v4 protocol fees have been at the center of controversy among liquidity providers. Hayden Adams, the founder of Uniswap, rejected claims that the new fees reduce LP earnings.
In a recent X post, Adams argued that critics misunderstood how the protocol fees work. He stated that claims the protocol fee activation takes 25% of LP profits are based on incorrect assumptions.
Adams used an example of a 30-basis-point pool to demonstrate his point. He explained that a 5-basis-point protocol fee represents about 14% of total swap fees, not a reduction in LP earnings.
