Uniswap Price Soars on SEC Permissioned AMM Trading Catalyst

The price of Uniswap's native token UNI surged from around $6.63 to $8.86 after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) opened a path for permissioned automated market makers (AMMs) trading.

The SEC's temporary framework allows certain tokenized U.S. stocks to be traded through approved venues using permissioned AMMs and liquidity pools, granting conditional regulatory relief to eligible liquidity providers.

This move has put Uniswap v4 back in focus, which the platform had already built infrastructure for through its permissioned pools launched in July. These pools can restrict access to approved wallets through on-chain compliance rules, creating new trading and liquidity opportunities across Uniswap v4.

The $UNI price broke above $8.50, with open interest climbing to 11.21 million. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has reached the overbought zone at 76.24, indicating a strong move but also a risk of short-term consolidation.
