Uniswap Ties to Wall Street Boost DeFi Integration
Uniswap has caught the attention of traditional finance, with founder Hayden Adams revealing that a tokenized securities platform from OKX and ICE will utilize Uniswap V4 hooks. This development positions Uniswap's infrastructure as a key player in trading tokenized U.S. stocks, marking a significant step toward integrating decentralized finance (DeFi) with traditional markets.
Despite this positive news, Uniswap's price (UNI) is currently trading at $8.8762, down 2.5% over the past 24 hours. The decline appears decoupled from Bitcoin's modest gains and broader market trends. On-chain data indicates that a whale deposited over 654,000 UNI, worth around $5.96 million, to Coinbase Prime, realizing a $1.27 million gain. Such deposits typically precede selling, adding direct pressure on the price.
Technically, UNI has been consolidating within a tight range of $8.55 to $9.21 since late September. If the price breaks above this range, the next resistance levels are at $11.0174, $13.0204, and $15.0034. Conversely, a breakdown below $8.5506 would suggest further downward pressure, with the 200-period EMA at $7.9419 serving as deeper support.
Analysts view the Wall Street connection as a long-term positive for Uniswap's relevance, though the timeline remains uncertain. The current price action is holding within its range, with $9.2089 being the key level to watch for any potential breakout.
