Uniswap Token Could Soar 40-Fold by 2030 Amid DeFi Boom
Standard Chartered has released a bullish report on Uniswap's (UNI) token, predicting it could rise 40-fold to $100 by 2030. According to Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, the amount of assets locked in decentralized finance (DeFi) could reach $2.7 trillion by end-2030, a 37x increase from current levels.
The bank expects tokenized assets on-chain to grow to $4 trillion by end-2028 and for the share of tokenized assets active in DeFi to rise to 30% by end-2030 from 3.5% currently. Kendrick emphasized that most value locked in DeFi is on Ethereum, which should expand alongside the bank's Ethereum forecasts.
Standard Chartered highlighted Uniswap's infrastructure role as an all-purpose layer for decentralized trading and its longevity and brand recognition. They also mentioned dominance in highly correlated pair trading, a factor supporting their view that tokenization will increase demand for Uniswap liquidity pools.
