Uniswap Tokenized Stock Volume Tops $300 Million as Base Sees Record Equity Activity
The tokenized equities on Base have reached a record high in Uniswap trading volume, exceeding $300 million. This milestone reflects growing liquidity for on-chain stocks among both retail and institutional participants.
According to BSCN, this significant increase in volume is attributed to the integration of tokenized securities into Uniswap's products. In June, the decentralized exchange made available tokenized assets representing companies such as Apple, Tesla, and NVIDIA through its web application, wallet, and API.
Base has also expanded its infrastructure for tokenized equities, allowing eligible users to hold and trade stock representations through self-custodial wallets and interact with supported DeFi applications. The network describes the assets as programmable tokens that can interact with other on-chain financial infrastructure rather than remaining confined to traditional brokerage accounts.
The regulatory environment for tokenized equities has been developing, with the US Securities and Exchange Commission issuing temporary, conditional exemptions for certain venues trading tokenized U.S. stocks through permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools.
