Uniswap Under Fire as Over Half of v4 Hooks Are Found to Be Malicious

0x recently released an analysis of Uniswap v4 Hooks across six chains, concluding that only 19.4% are safe, while 54.2% are malicious and 26.4% suspected malicious.

Uniswap founder Hayden Adams responded by stating that the existence of malicious Hooks is a natural consequence of permissionless systems, but users trading through Uniswap's official API or vetted frontends will not encounter these issues.

0x accused Uniswap of being responsible for the issue due to its aggregator routing filtering capabilities and defined the attack as 'Quote Spoofing', which manipulates prices after a trade is initiated, resulting in users receiving fewer assets than quoted.
