Uniswap's daily UNI burn surpassed $1 million for the first time on September 4, driven by trading activity on Robinhood Chain. The total value of tokens burned that day was $1.15 million, with 184,000 UNI tokens destroyed. Of those, around 150,000 were tied to burns from Uniswap trading activity on Robinhood Chain.

Robinhood Chain's daily trading volume across decentralized exchanges reached a record high of $3 billion on the same day, with Uniswap responsible for about 98% of that total volume. The network is built using Arbitrum's underlying technology and is operated by Robinhood, the US-based stock and cryptocurrency trading platform listed under the ticker HOOD.

The UNI burn mechanism is a relatively new feature, introduced through a governance proposal called UNIfication in December 2022. Hayden Adams, Uniswap's founder, and other key individuals at the Foundation authored the proposal, which passed with an overwhelming majority. The changes went live shortly after, marking the beginning of the token's deflationary journey.
