Uniswap UNI Token Soars Over 50% Amid Governance Proposal

Uniswap's UNI token has seen significant growth in the past 24 hours, surging over 50% to reach a two-year high of $12.73.

This increase follows a proposal from the Uniswap Foundation to revamp the protocol's governance system.

The proposed upgrade aims to incentivize long-term token holders by rewarding those who stake and delegate their UNI tokens, as well as extending this reward system to the fee mechanism.

According to Erin Koen, the governance lead of the Uniswap Foundation, this change is expected to bolster engagement and potentially contribute to the protocol's long-term success.
