Uniswap's BUIDL Deal Sets Stage for $100 Price Target
Uniswap's latest development has given its crypto price prediction credibility. The integration of BlackRock's BUIDL fund into UniswapX, a decentralized exchange protocol, allows qualified investors to trade tokenized US Treasuries and USDC on-chain with near-instant settlement.
The BUIDL fund represents tokenized shares in a fund holding US dollar assets and short-term government securities. This integration is significant as it shows Wall Street's growing interest in Uniswap. The protocol offers programmable liquidity, 24/7 operation, transparent settlement, and access across multiple networks.
Uniswap's current price of $3.25 is roughly 90% below its May 2021 all-time high of $44.92. To reach $100, the circulating market capitalization would need to be above $62 billion, a target that seems ambitious but achievable with sustained growth.
The activation of protocol fees has created a clearer connection between Uniswap activity and UNI supply. The system redirects part of the trading fee toward the protocol, which can then purchase and burn UNI. This process creates additional downward pressure on circulating supply, potentially improving scarcity if it grows faster than new issuance.
