Unlikely Solo Miner Scores $200K BTC Reward Amidst Ongoing Coldcard Chaos
A rare exception to the norm in Bitcoin mining has been reported, where an individual miner managed to secure a substantial reward of 3.125 BTC (approximately $63,896.00) and $200,000 at today's prices.
The miner, who is likely not an average hobbyist, achieved this feat by mining block number 960804 with a hashrate that peaked at 100 PH, significantly higher than what most hobby miners can achieve.
Dr-ck, a pseudonymous software developer at CKPool, was among the first to congratulate the miner, but noted that it's likely they rented the equipment, which would explain their unusually high hashrate.
This development comes amidst the ongoing Coldcard saga, where many investors using the hardware wallet lost millions of dollars worth of BTC due to a wave of attacks. Despite this chaos, Dr-ck emphasized that the Bitcoin network continues to operate as intended.
