Upbit Delists ICON as Security Risks Persist
South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit will end trading support for ICON's ICX token on October 19, 2026. The decision comes after Upbit placed ICX on an investment caution list in late August due to unresolved security risks.
The removal of the ICX/KRW pair from Upbit will reduce liquidity and on/off-ramp access for Korean traders who used this pairing as a primary market. Holders must withdraw their assets by November 18, 2026, and Upbit will no longer process airdrops, wallet upgrades, migrations, or hard forks for the asset after the deadline.
The delisting reflects Upbit's push to tighten listing standards amid regulatory scrutiny in South Korea. This move may signal a shift in how exchanges approach risk management and compliance in the region.
