Upbit Delists ICON's ICX Token Amid Unresolved Security Risks
South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, will stop trading support for ICON's ICX token on October 19, 2026. This decision comes after a review that began in late August when ICX was designated an investment caution asset due to unresolved security risks.
The exchange attributed the delisting to security incident risks surrounding ICON that were never resolved. Upbit placed ICX on its investment caution list in late August and the token's status was not lifted in the weeks that followed.
Trading for ICX against the Korean won will stop at 3:00 p.m. Korea Standard Time on October 19, and all outstanding orders will be cancelled once support ends. Upbit also said it will no longer process airdrops, wallet upgrades, migrations, or hard forks for the asset after the deadline.
The exchange urged users to settle any pending trades and move assets before those dates to avoid disruption. The delisting narrows the venues where Korean traders can buy and sell ICX, making the removal a notable development for domestic traders who used the pairing as a primary on- and off-ramp.
