Upbit Flags Sophon as Trading Warning While Binance Removes Seven USDC Pairs
The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit has placed Sophon (SOPH) under a trading warning and suspended deposits, while Binance will remove seven USDC spot pairs on September 25.
Upbit's review found 'numerous deficiencies' in SOPH's disclosure and circulation plan changes, which could lead to user harm. The exchange has until mid-October to resolve these issues, during which time existing spot markets remain available for trading.
Binance, on the other hand, cited poor liquidity and trading volume as reasons for removing seven USDC pairs, including AIXBT/$USDC, DOLO/$USDC, $ENJ/$USDC, $HUMA/$USDC, SXT/$USDC, TNSR/$USDC, and TURTLE/$USDC.
It's worth noting that Binance had previously removed four USDC spot pairs on September 18. The exchange has used this procedure to remove pairs with low trading volume in the past.
