Upbit Lays Sandbox Trading Warning to Rest
Upbit, a major South Korean cryptocurrency exchange, has lifted its trading warning for Sandbox (SAND) after a security incident in August 2026. The exchange had issued a warning on August 24, 2026, due to a potential risk of user losses. However, after reviewing documents from the Sandbox team on the incident and the measures taken afterward, Upbit determined that the issue had been addressed. As a result, the exchange lifted the trading warning on October 2, 2026, for the SAND/KRW and SAND/BTC trading pairs.
Deposit services for SAND will soon resume, and transactions recorded while services were suspended will be credited to accounts once the service resumes. Upbit warns users that price differences with other overseas exchanges following the resumption of deposits could lead to sharp price movements.
