Upbit to List Dolphin Altcoin Amid 14.80% Price Surge
South Korean exchange Upbit announced that it will launch trading support for the altcoin Dolphin (POD) in three markets: POD/KRW, POD/BTC, and POD/USDT. The trading pairs will become available on October 2 at 10.00 TRT. Deposits and withdrawals will only be supported on the Base network, and deposit services are expected to begin within two hours of the announcement.
Buy orders will be restricted for the first approximately 5 minutes after trading support begins, and sell orders cannot be placed at prices 10% or more below the previous day's closing price during the same period. For approximately two hours after trading begins, order types and conditions other than limit orders will be unavailable.
The price of POD has already risen 14.80% in the past 24 hours to $0.8211, according to CoinMarketCap data. Upbit stated that POD deposits made before a reference price is established on CoinMarketCap or before trading support begins on the exchange will be subject to Travel Rule verification, even if the amount is less than 1 million won.
Upbit described Dolphin as a DePIN project that uses open AI models and unused GPU capacity to run AI inference workloads in a distributed manner. POD is used for staking and bonding within the project. The exchange also warned that the start of trading could be delayed if sufficient liquidity is not available.
