Upbit's Enhanced RLUSD Integration Accelerates XRP Adoption on XRP Ledger
XRP's adoption is accelerating on the XRP Ledger, according to recent developments. South Korean exchange Upbit has enhanced its RLUSD integration, which is significant because it holds more than 6.4 billion XRP, making it one of the largest XRP custodians globally and a key gateway for South Korea’s large XRP community.
Upbit now has the infrastructure to support any XRP Ledger-issued assets and opens the door to more integrations, according to Vet. The focus on RLUSD is just the beginning, as the infrastructure could eventually enable broader XRP Ledger functionality, including tokenized assets and native financial services.
The XRP Ledger’s upcoming native lending and borrowing feature could be a catalyst for adoption, particularly if adopted by exchanges like Upbit. This would allow users to earn yield on billions of XRP held on the platform without relying on external smart contracts.
