Uptober Unfolds: Bitcoin and Ethereum Set for Crucial October Tests
October has become known in crypto circles as 'Uptober', given its history of positive price movements. This year's version is a bit unusual, however, with Bitcoin (BTC) having already risen around 25% in August and roughly 7% in September.
Despite this strong start to the month, BTC still trades about a third below its October 2025 high of $126,198. Other tokens are also showing signs of life, including Solana (SOL), which has doubled from its June low, Chainlink (LINK), up more than 20% since September, and XRP, down only 58% from its peak.
The calendar is set to provide a number of key events in the coming weeks. The first public test of Ethereum's (ETH) next upgrade, known as Glamsterdam, is scheduled for October 6 on Sepolia. This will be followed by another test on Hoodi on October 27, depending on how the Sepolia test goes.
