US and UK Unite Against Global Crypto Scam Networks

Share

The US and UK have joined forces to combat global crypto scams, targeting networks involved in fraud, money laundering, and human trafficking.

The alliance brings together US prosecutors, Britain's Crown Prosecution Service, and the National Crime Agency to share intelligence, coordinate investigations, and decide which country should prosecute cases.

Nearly $13 billion in reported financial activity was tied to suspected digital-asset investment scams, with scammers often using fake identities and social engineering to gain victims' trust before directing them toward fraudulent investments.

The US Scam Center Strike Force, created in November 2025, will expand its efforts through this new alliance, while officials also coordinate with private-sector partners on a disruption operation in London this October.
