US-China Super Intelligence Dialogue Established Amid Summit Developments
The United States and China have established a Super Intelligence Dialogue as part of their recent summit. The dialogue aims to facilitate the exchange of views on emerging technologies, including their risks and benefits.
President Donald J. Trump and President Xi Jinping agreed that 'super intelligence' should be used for relevant emerging technologies. A discussion is scheduled by November 2026.
The two countries also reached a consensus on limited tariff relief, recommending favorable treatment for $30 billion of non-sensitive goods in each direction. U.S. exports covered under this framework include agricultural products, seafood, logs and wood products, cosmetics, and medical devices. Chinese exports covered by the framework include small appliances, toys, holiday decorations, and children's car seats.
The agreement also operationalized government-to-government trade and investment boards and continued work on supply-chain shortages involving rare earths and other critical minerals.
