US Crypto Ownership Hits New Low Amid Rising Risk Concerns
US cryptocurrency ownership among investors has fallen to 11% from 17% in 2025, according to a recent Gallup survey.
This decline marks a six-point drop from last year's reading and represents a pullback across every major investor subgroup.
Younger men remained the most likely owners of crypto, with 24% of male investors aged 18-49 reporting holding cryptocurrency, down from 33% in 2025.
Upper-income investors reported owning crypto at a rate of 15%, while lower-income investors lagged behind at just 4%.
A significant majority of investors, 63%, classified cryptocurrency as 'very risky', with even current owners applying this label to their investment.
