US Crypto Tax Bill Advances as O'Leary Predicts CLARITY Act Return
Crypto regulations in the US are likely to see renewed momentum in the coming months. The Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act has advanced in the House Ways and Means Committee, aiming to establish tax rules for staking, mining, small crypto transactions, and broker obligations.
This development comes on the heels of the failed CLARITY Act vote in the Senate. The bill required 60 votes but only received 49, effectively halting its progress for now.
Shark Tank host Kevin O'Leary believes that the CLARITY Act will return to the agenda next year, possibly as early as the first quarter following the midterms. According to him, it's inevitable for policies to manage crypto activities to be put in place once taxes are collected.
