US Cryptocurrency Legislation Collapses in Senate Amid Partisan Deadlock
A landmark US cryptocurrency legislation, known as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, has failed to secure enough votes in the Senate.
The bill, which aimed to establish a comprehensive federal framework for digital-asset markets, was unable to garner the 60 votes needed to advance to debate.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren criticized the bill, saying it posed 'massive risks to families, our national security, and our economy.'
She also argued that the bill would benefit President Donald Trump's business interests in cryptocurrency, which earned him more than $1 billion last year alone.
