US Defense Secretary Reveals Bitcoin Holdings Worth Up to $65,000
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently disclosed his bitcoin holdings in his annual financial report for 2025. According to the document, Hegseth holds between $16,000 and $65,000 worth of bitcoin on Coinbase. This is a relatively small portion of his overall assets, with cash and traditional investments making up much larger shares.
The two entries for bitcoin holdings were listed in the range of $15,001 to $50,000 and another in the range of $1,001 to $15,000. Hegseth's financial disclosure also reported transactions involving sales of individual stocks, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple.
It's worth noting that Hegseth's bitcoin holdings are drawing attention due to his position as a senior official in the Trump administration, which has taken a crypto-friendly policy stance. However, it's difficult to determine whether there is any link between Hegseth's personal investments and the administration's policies.
