The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released inflation data for July 2026, showing a 3.4% year-over-year rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the lowest reading in four months.

This came after May's CPI peak and marks a decline in monthly changes to the index.

Following the report, Bitcoin dropped from $64,500 to $64,000 as market participants assessed how this data could influence the Federal Reserve's rate decision in September.
