US Jobs Data and Core PCE Inflation Rate to Drive Market Focus
The upcoming week will see the release of key macroeconomic data from the US, including the non-farm employment report and core PCE inflation rate.
On Monday, ADP will announce its September jobs numbers at 20:15 Beijing time, followed by the August core PCE price index year-over-year at 20:30. On Tuesday, the initial unemployment claims data for the period up to September 26 will be released at 20:30.
The highlight of the week will be the non-farm employment report on Friday at 20:30 Beijing time, which includes the non-farm payroll numbers, unemployment rate, and average hourly earnings. This data is closely watched by markets as it has a direct bearing on the Federal Reserve's interest rate path.
In addition to economic data, several central bank officials will be speaking during the week. On Wednesday, Federal Reserve officials including FOMC members Lael Brainard and Patrick Harker, as well as Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and St. Louis Fed President James Bullard, will be making public appearances.
On Thursday, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde are scheduled to speak at 16:00 and 21:30 Beijing time respectively.
