US Loses Ground in Global Bitcoin Mining Share as China and Russia Gain
The global Bitcoin mining landscape saw a shift in 2026, as the United States' share of the total hashrate declined by nearly 1%. This decline represents a loss of approximately 55 exahash per second (EH/s), although the US remains the largest miner globally. In contrast, China and Russia increased their combined share of the global hashrate, despite experiencing absolute losses in EH/s.
Paraguay stood out as an exception to this trend, with its mining share increasing. This development could be attributed to the recent surge in Bitcoin's hashprice by over 27% in the past month, which may attract new miners worldwide and further reshape the global mining landscape.
