US Sanctions Expansion Targets Digital Assets in Iran Crackdown
China has pushed back against the latest round of US sanctions on Iran, which now explicitly target digital asset transactions involving third parties.
The Trump administration's expanded sanctions go beyond traditional trade restrictions and introduce secondary penalties for third-party entities facilitating crypto transfers linked to Iran.
China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that China-Iran cooperation is lawful under international norms and should not be subject to US interference or disruption.
