USD1 Stablecoin Goes Live on Canton Network
World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin has been launched natively on Canton Network, a privacy-enabled public blockchain designed for regulated financial markets. This integration is expected to support several institutional applications, including derivatives collateralization, cross-border payments, and asset issuance.
The Canton Network currently moves over $350 billion in on-chain U.S. Treasurys daily, but this large volume comes with a significant drawback: slow settlement cycles. The integration of USD1 aims to address this inefficiency by providing a fast and secure way for institutions to settle transactions.
Canton's token (CC) has seen a slight pullback following the announcement, trading around $0.116 at the time of writing. However, it remains up 29.2% over the past week and 18.4% over the last two weeks, despite being 5.1% lower over the past 30 days.
The integration of USD1 on Canton is a significant development in the tokenized asset market, which has grown rapidly alongside the broader real-world asset (RWA) market. Data from RWA.xyz shows that tokenized assets are now valued at around $353.1 billion, with Canton accounting for roughly 90% of this value.
