Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the adoption of USDT is increasing in four countries: Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and Turkey. These nations are experiencing monetary instability, which has led users to rely on USDT as a digital dollar when local currencies weaken or physical dollars become scarce.

Ardoino pointed out that these economies heavily depend on USDT for domestic and foreign trade. According to Chainalysis, Venezuela ranked 18th, Turkey 14th, and Argentina 20th in the Global Crypto Adoption Index of 2025.

Chainalysis estimated nearly $1.5 trillion in Latin American crypto activity from July 2022 through June 2025. Tether reported that its technology served over 570 million users worldwide as of March 2026, with a record USDT supply reaching $188 billion.
