USDT Gains Traction in Emerging Markets Amid Currency Pressures

USDT adoption is growing in several emerging markets, including Venezuela, Bolivia, Argentina, and Turkey. In these countries, businesses are increasingly using USDT for import and export settlements, commercial transactions, peer-to-peer trading, and as a hedge against inflation.

The token has become an important payment tool in these markets, supporting transactions within countries and across borders, according to Tether chief Paolo Ardoino. USDT is being used as a digital alternative to the U.S. dollar and as a store of value, driven by pressures such as weakening local currencies, limited access to dollars, and financial restrictions.

In Venezuela, businesses use USDT for import and export settlements, while in Bolivia commercial transactions are driving adoption. In Argentina, USDT activity is primarily through peer-to-peer trading, and in Turkey users turn to the token as a hedge against inflation.
