USDT Holders in Russia Warned: Assets May Be Frozen on US Administration's Instruction
Russian banking sector official Petr Fradkov has warned that Russian holders of the popular USDT stablecoin may face their assets being frozen.
The warning comes from PSB, a key bank for Russia's military-industrial complex, which explained that Tether Limited retains full control over the USDT it issues and can freeze funds in accounts not only of owners linked to unlawful activity but also 'simply on instructions from the US administration'.
Fradkov cited recent cases where significant assets held by people in Iran and Russia were frozen using this mechanism.
