USDT on TRON Surpasses Bitcoin and Ethereum as Most-Used Onchain Payment Option
CoinsBee, a global platform for buying gift cards and digital products using cryptocurrencies, has revealed that USDT on TRON (TRC-20) is now its most-used onchain payment option. According to data from CoinsBee, over the 90-day period ending September 1, 2026, USDT on TRON recorded approximately 1.8 times as many payments as Bitcoin and 1.9 times as many as Ethereum. The share of payment activity for USDT on TRON also increased substantially, accounting for 16.23% of all payments on CoinsBee in 2026 to date, compared with 9.92% in 2025.
The data indicates that the average value of USDT purchases made through TRON was higher than purchases made through other networks supporting USDT. The most purchased brands using USDT on TRON during this period included Amazon, Apple, AT&T, PlayStation, Uber, Macy's, T-Mobile, Walmart, Sephora, and DoorDash.
CoinBee is launching a joint campaign with TRON DAO to promote the use of USDT on TRON for everyday purchases. The campaign will offer eligible users of the CoinBee mobile app a 2% discount on purchases paid with USDT on TRON from September 21 through October 5, 2026.
