Tether's USDT is issued across multiple blockchain protocols, making it essential to match the sender and receiver's network when transferring funds.

The asset exists on various networks, including Ethereum, Tron, Solana, TON, Aptos, Tezos, Polkadot AssetHub, Liquid, and others, with some legacy implementations being discontinued or moved to legacy status.

A sender must select the correct network for the transfer, as transactions occur under different fee mechanisms and transaction histories, even if the ticker is the same. For instance, TRC20 USDT uses the Tron network, while ERC20 USDT uses an Ethereum-compatible token contract on Ethereum.
