Uzbekistan Tightens Crypto-Asset Controls to Combat Money Laundering
Uzbekistan has updated its rules for controlling crypto-assets as part of efforts to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
A joint resolution from the National Agency of Perspective Projects and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office was registered on September 28, 2026, and will enter into force upon official publication.
The amendments aim to improve procedures for establishing and operating internal control systems at crypto-asset service providers. This includes clarifying customer due diligence requirements and reporting suspicious transactions.
