Van Tassel Sees Major Breakout Potential in Cardano's Long-Term Chart
Market analyst Eric Van Tassel believes Cardano (ADA) is on the verge of a major macro breakout, contradicting claims that the cryptocurrency has become a 'dead coin'. According to Van Tassel's analysis, ADA has been forming a massive multi-year compression structure since 2021. This pattern resembles similar structures in other cryptocurrencies and may signal an expansion phase for the altcoin market.
The long-term chart shows ADA trading around $0.25 as its rising support trendline converges with the descending resistance line established after the 2021 peak. Van Tassel divided this structure into four phases: a major price expansion from 2018-2021, multi-year compression from 2021-2026, a failed breakout attempt in 2025, and another potential breakout attempt in 2026.
ADA's recent move above the descending resistance line is significant, but Van Tassel notes that it would need to post a sustained weekly close above this level and successfully retest it as support for confirmation. He also highlights increased trading volume as ADA approaches the apex of its long-term structure, which could indicate a broader expansion phase in the altcoin market.
