VanEck Digital Assets has decided to withdraw its application for a Lido staked Ether ETF, halting plans to distribute shares of the proposed fund. The asset manager filed an S-1 registration statement for the exchange-traded fund in October 2025, aiming to provide investors with exposure to the liquid staking token Lido staked Ether (stETH). The fund was expected to accrue staking rewards through ownership of stETH.
In an SEC filing on Wednesday, VanEck stated it no longer intends to proceed with the planned distribution of the trust’s shares. The company did not provide a reason for the decision or indicate whether it would pursue a replacement product. The withdrawal comes after VanEck initially filed the application on October 16, 2025.
Cointelegraph reached out to VanEck Digital Assets for further comment, but no additional details were provided. The move marks a shift in VanEck’s strategy regarding cryptocurrency investment products.
