VanEck BNB ETF Sees $97 Million Inflow in Single Day
The VanEck BNB ETF, trading under the ticker VBNB, reported a significant inflow of $97 million on Friday, according to VanEck. This marks the fund's first major flow since its launch in the US earlier this year. The ETF, which debuted on May 28, 2026, is the first spot exchange-traded fund in the US offering direct exposure to BNB, the native token of BNB Chain.
As of early October 2026, VBNB held roughly $2.3 million to $2.7 million in assets under management. A $97 million single-day inflow would significantly surpass this entire asset base. However, daily volume in one instance came in at approximately $13.8k, and Glassnode reported zero net flows for VBNB as of October 2, 2026. The reported $97 million inflow has not been independently verified by major reporting sources.
VanEck has made several operational changes, including adding BitGo as a second custodian alongside Anchorage. On September 25, 2026, VanEck named Figment as a staking validator for the fund, with a 4% fee on staked holdings. The fund’s objectives were updated to include staking as a secondary goal next to following the spot price of BNB.
Despite strong chain metrics, such as 33 million monthly active users and 2.1 million daily active users on the network, as well as approximately $160 million in annual revenue, on-chain activity has not translated into significant money flowing into the ETF. Other altcoin ETFs have seen notable inflows recently, but VBNB’s flow data had shown no comparable movement before Friday.
