Vanguard Dips into Nearly $1B in Leveraged Bitcoin Stock
Vanguard Group has significantly boosted its holding in Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) by $50 million, increasing the total position to roughly 10.5 million shares worth nearly $1 billion.
This is a notable increase for Vanguard, which manages trillions of dollars across its index funds and ETFs. The firm's passive investment approach means it buys whatever makes up the indexes it tracks.
Strategy has become one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin on the planet, having spent years converting its balance sheet into a leveraged Bitcoin vehicle. Its stock is effectively tied to Bitcoin's price trajectory.
