Verona Launches verUSD Stablecoin with Over $100M Institutional Backing
Verona has launched verUSD, a new U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin designed for payments between AI agents. The stablecoin is backed by over $100 million in institutional launch commitments and is available on seven blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana.
The launch of verUSD aims to provide a secure and efficient payment solution for transactions carried out by AI agents, allowing them to pay for verified data and settle transactions within the Verona network. The stablecoin is issued through Brale and is backed 1:1 by U.S. dollar reserves held with regulated financial institutions.
Verona's infrastructure has already recorded over 70 million verified interactions across more than five million users, and the company plans to expand blockchain integrations in the coming weeks. The launch of verUSD marks a significant milestone for Verona as it continues to develop its AI-agent payment infrastructure.
