Vertex Protocol Abandons EVM Deployments in Favor of New Platform

Vertex Protocol is undergoing significant changes as it transitions to a new platform. The existing EVM deployments, including Arbitrum, Mantle, Sei, Base, and Sonic, are being deprecated in favor of Ink, an Ethereum layer 2 incubated by Kraken on the OP Stack. This rebuild aims to improve the technical substrate without altering the direction of the product.

Vertex was valued for its cross-margin model, which allows spot and perpetual positions to share collateral, as well as its fees of roughly 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker. The VRTX token is being wound down concurrently with the platform's transition.

The practical implication for users is that they need to actively follow the migration plan, as the existing deployments and token are not permanent. Until the move is complete and proven in operation, Vertex is not a viable option for those seeking a fresh start, particularly given its lack of EU authorization.
