Vietnam, Austria Collaborate on Crypto Asset Supervision
A high-level delegation from Vietnam's Ministry of Finance met with the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) in Vienna on September 15 to discuss cooperation and share experience in managing financial markets, including supervision of crypto assets.
Deputy Minister Nguyễn Đức Chi praised Austria's reforms in financial management, citing its ability to adapt quickly to advancements in science and technology. Vietnam, he noted, has established a pilot framework for regulating crypto assets and plans to license the first providers by 2026.
The Vietnamese side also emphasized the importance of digital transformation and access to credit markets for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which account for nearly all operating businesses in Vietnam. The country is refining support policies to strengthen these companies' governance, financial capacity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
