Vietnam, Austria Team Up on Crypto Regulation Framework
Austria and Vietnam have announced a partnership to oversee the country's emerging crypto market. Under this agreement, Vietnam plans to license its first crypto-asset service providers in 2026 using a pilot legal framework.
The collaboration was facilitated by a meeting between Vietnamese Finance Minister Nguyen Duc Chi and Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) head Mariana Kuhnel in Vienna. The two discussed bilateral cooperation and exchanged financial supervision expertise.
Vietnam's State Securities Commission (SSC) is refining its financial regulations to handle new asset types and technological developments, according to SSC Chairwoman Vu Thi Chan Phuong.
