Vietnam Shuts Down Unlicensed Crypto Exchanges Amid New Regulation Push
The Vietnamese government has introduced Decree No. 284/2026/NĐ-CP, a framework for regulating cryptocurrencies within its borders.
This decree is not a ban on cryptos, but rather an attempt to shift trading from international exchanges like Binance and Bybit to licensed domestic platforms.
The new rules will take effect on September 1st and impose financial penalties on users who continue to trade with unlicensed services.
Vietnam's move aims to enhance regulatory oversight, investor protection, tax compliance, and transparency in the crypto market.
