Reports have emerged that Vietnam's new crypto framework may be the first step towards a ban on cryptocurrencies in the country.

The framework, announced by the State Securities Commission (SSC) of Vietnam last week, outlines regulations for the trading and holding of digital assets. However, some analysts believe that the strict requirements imposed by the framework could effectively prohibit the use of cryptocurrencies in Vietnam.

Roger Li, a blockchain expert based in Asia, stated that 'the new regulations are overly restrictive' and could 'limit the growth of the crypto market in Vietnam.'
