Virginia Man Convicted of Stealing Millions in Crypto

Share

A Virginia man was convicted of wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud for stealing over $2.5 million from investors.

Jihoon Park, 52, gained his victims' trust through personal relationships and promised them safe investments with high returns.

However, he diverted their money to fund a house purchase and invest in cryptocurrency.

Park's bankruptcy filings listed only $0.34 in financial assets and denied owning any cryptocurrency, which prosecutors said was an attempt to avoid paying his victims back.
