Visa Merges Settlement Data with Blockchain Lending for Stablecoin Cards
Visa is expanding its stablecoin-linked card programs by combining its settlement data with blockchain lending infrastructure. This move will enable fintechs and issuers to tap into working capital as they scale, according to Visa.
The payments giant said that it has seen significant growth in the number of stablecoin-linked card programs on its network, with over 160 such programs now running on its platform. Payment volume on these programs has increased by nearly 200% year-over-year, and Visa's stablecoin settlement volume has surpassed a $20 billion annualized run rate.
Visa is also partnering with Credit Coop to provide working capital and settlement financing for card issuers and fintechs. This partnership will help evaluate credit performance and support automated settlement financing.
