Visa Unveils Stablecoin Platform for Fintechs and Crypto Natives

Share

Visa has launched its new Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP), a comprehensive enterprise platform designed to help financial institutions, fintechs, and crypto natives access stablecoin capabilities through a single Visa-managed environment. The VSP provides direct access to Open USD, a new stablecoin recently introduced by Open Standard, allowing institutions to easily mint, burn, manage, and transfer Open USD.

Visa's Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Jack Forestell, stated that the hard part of adopting stablecoins is not the concept itself but rather the operational reality. With VSP, Visa aims to give its clients a single place to mint, move, and manage stablecoin operations with the controls, security, and network reach they already expect from Visa.

The platform integrates seamlessly into Open Standard, providing institutions with direct access to Open USD alongside Visa's network services. This enables clients to embed stablecoin capabilities into existing payment flows, treasury operations, and settlement processes.
