Visser Predicts Bitcoin Will Be One of the Few to Survive Human and Technological Disruption
Veteran Wall Street investor Jordi Visser made a bold prediction on the Coin Stories podcast, stating that only a handful of things have survived repeated waves of human and technological disruption: religion, gold, and now Bitcoin.
Visser, who is also the Head of AI Macro Nexus Research at 22v Research, argued that Bitcoin is the one technology he can guarantee will survive 20 years. He cited the rapid pace of innovation as a key factor in the demise of other technologies, pointing to OpenAI's recent solution to a 150-year-old math problem.
Visser also pushed back on the idea that retail adoption drives Bitcoin's price, stating that wealthy holders who currently avoid it are the ones responsible for moving prices. He pointed out that roughly $184 trillion in U.S. household net worth is held by the top 10%, and they don't believe in Bitcoin.
Visser also made some surprising statements about crypto, saying 'crypto is not made for humans' and that demand comes from AI agents instead. He noted that agent payments will be done with stablecoins running on layer-2 networks built on Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).
