Visser Predicts Bitcoin Will Survive Next 20 Years Alongside Gold and Religion
Veteran Wall Street investor Jordi Visser has made a bold prediction that Bitcoin (BTC) will be one of the few things to survive human and technological disruption, alongside religion and gold.
Speaking on the Coin Stories podcast with Natalie Brunell, Visser said 'there are very few things that survive the disruption of human beings and technology: religion, gold, and now Bitcoin.'
He argued that Bitcoin is the only crypto or fiat system technology he can guarantee will be around in 20 years, calling it 'the collateral of the system'. Visser noted that innovation moves too fast for most technologies to last, citing OpenAI's recent solution to a 150-year-old math problem as an example.
The investor also pushed back on the idea that retail adoption raises Bitcoin's price, saying wealthy holders drive prices up when they buy. He pointed out that roughly $184 trillion in U.S. household net worth is held by the top 10%, and 'they don't believe in Bitcoin.'
